Shannon Sterne is a dance artist, educator and wellness consultant with master’s degrees in nutrition and contemporary dance from Case Western Reserve University. She danced internationally with the San Diego Ballet, toured nationally with the Dancing Wheels Company, and performed throughout southern California and Ohio as a freelance artist. She has taught at the University of Akron Dance Institute and the Dancing Wheels Company, and her choreography has been featured throughout the state of Ohio, notably, at the OhioDance Festival and Cleveland Public Theatre’s annual Pandemonium benefit.
With research interests emphasizing nutrition and wellness for dancers, Shannon has presented at the Annual Meeting of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS), and at the OhioDance Festival, where she taught classes on nutrition and wellness for dancers. In 2013, Shannon was named an assistant professor in the Department of Dance at Case Western Reserve, where she has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in ballet, Graham-based modern technique, dance history and dance kinesiology.
