Technique Class Admissions Policy
The dance program at Mather Dancer Center offers various technique classes to the university community. However, given the need for all dancers (including those outside the university community) to maintain regular technical training, Mather Dance Center has instituted the following policy for admission into the technique classes.
- Alumni of the dance program who have been awarded their MFA or MA degrees are welcome to enroll at a discounted tuition rate for one credit of upper level classes. Contact Molly Berger, College of Arts and Sciences office of the Dean.
- Members of the university community who wish to take technique class are to register for the appropriate technique class at which point they will have access to the desired technique class. If registration is not accomplished, then item #3 will apply.
Note: It is program policy that if the technique teacher deems the level of the technique class to be too advanced for a dancer, the dancer will be encouraged to change to a lower-level technique classes.
- Members of the greater Cleveland community may also register for one credit of some classes as "non degree seeking students" if they are able to commit to appropriately regular attendance to the class. Given the nature of dance training, discouraged is intermittent attendance. Contact the Case Admissions office.
University policy as well as program policy mandates that the primary focus of all technique classes will be to those students registered in the class.
- A professional courtesy to attend the upper level dance technique classes on a limited
basis may be granted by contacting the Director of the Dance Program at 216-368-1491.
